If your site is inaccessible, <strong>you could be excluding 20% of your potential users, customers, students, and more.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The foundation for good accessibility is great markup which also means that good accessibility can improve your SEO.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Accessibility Resources and Tools<\/h3>\n\n<p>The WPCampus community has a <a href=\"https:\/\/wpcampus.org\/resources\/accessibility\/\">great list of accessibility resources and tools<\/a> available on their website.<\/p>\n\n<p>This resource is open-source and WPCampus would love for you to contribute. <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/wpcampus\/wpcampus-resources\">Visit the WPCampus Resources repo<\/a> to learn how to contribute.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>WA11Y PRO TIP: Take advantage of in-browser testing tools, like <a href=\"http:\/\/wave.webaim.org\/\">WAVE<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/squizlabs.github.io\/HTML_CodeSniffer\/\">HTML_CodeSniffer<\/a>, to evaluate WordPress theme demos before you purchase.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3>Tools Included In wA11y<\/h3>\n\n<p>The mission for the wA11y plugin is to provide a plethora of tools to help you evaluate and improve the accessibility of your website.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>If you would like to see any new tools added to the plugin, please <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/bamadesigner\/wa11y\">create an issue in the wA11y Github repo<\/a> and label it an \"enhancement\".<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3>Tota11y<\/h3>\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/khan.github.io\/tota11y\/\">tota11y<\/a> is an accessibility visualization toolkit provided by your friends at Khan Academy. It is a single JavaScript file that inserts a small button in the bottom corner of your document and helps visualize how your site performs with assistive technologies.<\/p>\n\n<h3>WAVE<\/h3>\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wave.webaim.org\/\">WAVE<\/a> is a free evaluation tool provided by <a href=\"http:\/\/webaim.org\/\">WebAIM (Web Accessibility In Mind)<\/a>.
